Picture the perfect New York City day—enjoying a delicious cup of coffee while strolling through Central Park, a pit stop by The Met, and an afternoon of fabulous shopping. You’re likely picturing the Upper East Side, a neighborhood synonymous with the very best the city has to offer: a blend of tree-lined residential streets and a vibrant restaurant and cultural scene. That’s why we’re so excited to announce that SotoMethod is opening its second brick-and-mortar studio in this bustling, dynamic neighborhood.

Why the Upper East Side?

Beyond its world-class museums and vibrant dining scene, the Upper East Side is also home to a wellness-focused community ready for a high-intensity, low-impact workout that combines strength, and endurance. SotoMethod’s structured, results-driven program is perfect for those seeking an efficient yet effective workout that delivers real results. Designed for runners, strength trainers, and fitness enthusiasts alike, our method provides the perfect complement to any existing routine.

This expansion of Soto represents our long-term investment into New York City and our loving clients that have made this expansion possible. The push for an uptown studio has been heard loud and clear - we understand the strong community demand and can’t wait to open our doors to the neighborhood that our founder, Hilary, calls home.

The Details

SotoMethod Upper East Side opens its doors on March 14. Located at 206 East 86th Street, our newest studio will offer the same workout you know and love, in a slightly more intimate class setting.

We’re so excited for this next chapter—for our business, our community, and the dedicated clients who make it all possible.

A Day in the Life of an Upper East Sider

To kick off our new studio, let’s take a stroll through the perfect Upper East Side day for a little inspiration—featuring a few of Hilary’s favorite neighborhood spots.

Start the morning on the right foot with a cup of coffee from the Upper East Side cult favorite, Butterfield Market. Known for its exceptional selection of groceries, Butterfield also serves up a cup of coffee that’s well worth the stop.

After wandering through Central Park with coffee in hand (you might even spot Hilary at the playground with her twins!), there’s no better way to start the day than with a workout at our Upper East Side SotoMethod studio. If today isn’t a Soto day, though, you can’t go wrong with a class at Solidcore to get your morning sweat in.

After your workout, lunch is on the horizon—and the Upper East Side is home to plenty of delicious options. EJ’s Luncheonette offers the perfect blend of comfort food and lighter fare, so there’s truly something for everyone. If you’re in the mood for a sandwich, Pastrami Queen is a can’t-miss spot (the name says it all).

If your afternoon leads you to the museums, the Upper East Side is home to some of the best in the country. From The Metropolitan Museum of Art to The Frick Collection and Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the list is both endless and impressive. If shopping is more your style, don’t skip stops at The T‑Shirt Shoppe, elysewalker, or Favorite Daughter.

To wrap up the day, enjoy a memorable dinner at JoJo. Located in an idyllic townhouse on a tree-lined street, JoJo’s ambiance is just as delightful as its food—charming and charismatic, much like the Upper East Side itself.
