Planning a wedding can be stressful and getting fit for the big day only piles on to that stress... but when I discovered SOTO from a good friend, something about this method felt different and much more manageable.

After my first class I was hooked! I’d tried everything under the sun in terms of workouts, but nothing ever worked until SOTO. Not only is the method designed for results but Hilary helped me to create a plan, using the Sweats, Sculpts and Triple As to make sure I felt my best.

The day of the wedding I felt so confident and comfortable with my body, mind and overall health. It’s now become a lifestyle, not just a workout, that I prioritize daily. I think what she did with SOTO was make it incredibly approachable. You get to choose how hard/intense you want to show up, without judgment, from the privacy of your own space.

Another huge thing for me was that every other workout I’d tried, I’d somehow get hurt and with SOTO - this never happened. Every move is safe and you get to move at your own pace while seeing real results. I’d recommend this method to anyone and everyone!

I am obsessed with Soto method. Hilary absolutely changed the way I view working out. After having twins recently I was having trouble getting back into working out and felt like my body had changed so much. I used to run 4/5 days a week along with some weight training. But after trying Soto, I immediately felt the difference in doing a total body workout that includes cardio and strengthening all over, which I really need in my postpartum phase. It starts with core strengthening and builds from there, which is something I greatly need in structured and guided classes. 

The flow of the class is also broken down in small timed sections which keeps it really fun but also mentally achievable.  Hilary also always changes it up so I never feel like a sculpt or sweat class are the same.  She also has express classes when you are crunched for time. The workouts are constantly challenging me.  I truly enjoy my Soto workouts and recommend it to everyone I know.

The Soto Method has become an integral part of my daily routine and a game-changing addition to my life. Why, you ask? Here are 6 reasons (one for each of Hilary's abs):

1) Soto does not make you feel like you need to move mountains to gain strength. Hilary broadens the realm of possibility by focusing on small building blocks: holding on for just "one second longer" or reaching out only "one centimeter further."

2) Soto builds not just physical but mental strength - Hilary's insistence that I am capable of conquering the task at hand stays with me far beyond class.

3) Many fitness classes have become over-complicated, but Soto's approach is simple and digestible. Hilary is masterful in creating a clear blueprint of what's to come so that no mental space is wasted on guessing.

4) Soto has so many iterations that I can plug into my day, no matter how time-constrained I am. Soto makes working out easy and non-negotiable.

5) The sweat is real. As the old adage says: once you go triple cardio, you don't go back!

6) You can absolutely forget your morning caffeine if you're starting your day with Hilary. She is the Energizer Bunny meets GI Jane. Hilary's positivity is infectious, her authenticity shines through in every class, and she is JUST THE BEST.

I feel like I have become a walking billboard for the SOTO method! In my journey to becoming a cardiologist, I have always been obsessive about how I spend my time. I had to so I could both take care of my patients and myself. I took to running because I felt that it was the most high yield, time efficient workout. That was until my sister-in-law introduced me to @hoffhil and her SOTO method! And conveniently, in the months leading up to my wedding.

First off, Hilary is just amazing. I was fortunate to take some in-person classes with her in LA before she moved to Miami and her positivity and energy is infectious and has not been lost through the virtual studio. She takes a genuine interest in each of her students as friends, building us up in and outside of class (and over email/social media!) but also supportively pushes us physically and mentally to “hold that extra second.”

Second, the organization of the class is ingenious. These bite size exercises help me overcome mental blocks as I know that 1) I can do anything for 20 seconds and 2) when I don’t think I have enough time to exercise in a day, I can always sneak-in a 5 minute section and feel like I’ve gotten a good workout. The exercises are well thought through to keep me safe while also pushing me beyond my limits. After only a couple of classes I already felt that I was so much stronger.

Also, I have never been one to do ab workouts and SOTO helped me feel much more confident as I prepared for my wedding. Although, as Hilary reminded me, it didn’t matter how in shape I was for my wedding, the SOTO plank and ab sequences helped me feel even more comfortable and relaxed in my unforgiving dress on my wedding day!

I cannot recommend SOTO enough!

I have always been interested in health and fitness. I have tried every exercise class and wellness gimmick, from the most common (cycling, HIIT, boxing) to the more unusual (trampoline, cryotherapy, anti-gravity yoga). In spite of committing to daily exercise for years, I never saw real results.
 
As most brides do, I wanted to look and feel my best on my wedding day. After researching different fitness trainers and exercise regimens, I reached out to Hilary when I heard through mutual friends she had launched SOTO. In our first conversation, Hilary used three phrases to describe SOTO that caught my attention: eliminates uncertainty; maximizes time; and delivers full-body results. She promised that if I committed to her 35-45 minute SOTO workouts 6 days a week, I would see a transformation – both physically and mentally.
 
Flash forward 8 months later: I am a die-hard SOTO fan, and I am fully convinced that SOTO is breaking new ground in the fitness industry. Not only have I become more confident in how I look physically, but I feel mentally stronger as well – just as Hilary promised. Better yet, I can do SOTO workouts anywhere, anytime, with hardly any space or equipment needed for the majority of the classes.
 
Importantly, there is no one else I could imagine guiding me through my fitness journey before my wedding than Hilary. She was encouraging, endlessly positive, and supportive beyond measure. Consistency and discipline in fitness have been a challenge for me in adulthood. I’ve long struggled with the mental aspects of exercise— especially pushing past fatigue or leaning into a challenging move when I don’t have the accountability of a coach or partner physically in the room with me. And for me, exercise is always the first thing to get cut from the schedule on a busy day. My husband loves the mental and physical challenge of working out— I’ve always just tolerated it.

SOTO has helped me practice discipline and build motivation & mental fortitude that extends beyond exercise. Working within a consistent framework and knowing what’s coming next (and Hilary’s encouragement, which always seems to come exactly when I need it) really helps me to manage my mindset during the workout, and I find myself willing to push through the burn more each class.

I love the variety of class options that all help me achieve a full-body burn in a short time frame, which has helped me to more consistently incorporate exercise into my routine without getting bored. And Hilary has poured herself into designing thoughtful, research-backed workouts that really help to build strength over time, so the results are real, visible, and tangible. While I initially tried SOTO to accelerate results leading up to my wedding, I realized that this method is actually sustainable for me in the long-term and has helped me grow mentally, in addition to the great physical results. As a guy we often associate fitness with big numbers - the heavier the weights, the stronger you are, the more fit you are, and the healthier you are. That philosophy was what I lived by for most of my life. The answer was always “do more weight!”

Then that philosophy changed for me after constant plateauing, struggles with weight loss, nagging injuries, loss of motion, more demands on my time, and constant distractions/excuses. Fitness became stretching, mobility, flexibility, stability, pliability, yoga, cardio, isometric holds, recovery, sleep, ab work (we all skip it!), lighter weights for more reps, heavier weights for less reps, less alcohol, better diet, band work, AMRAPs, EMOMs, planks, burpees, air assault bikes (my kryptonite), and so much more. Heavier weights aren’t the answer!

Everyone has a different body, a different mindset, a different goal, and a different amount of time they can devote to fitness. My fitness journey is unique to me and yours will be unique to you. You can spend hours a day working out or you can optimize your time wisely.

SOTO isn’t my everyday workout. Hilary knows that about me. It’s a workout method I use when I’m tight on time, stuck on a weekend trip in a hotel room, or just want to change it up. It’s a workout I incorporate when I plateau for a couple of weeks. It’s a workout I supplement into my routine when I need to squeeze in abs. It’s a workout I turn to when I’m not there mentally and need a friend to push me past my mental block for the day and hold me accountable.

SOTO has been an incredible constant throughout the craziness of this last year - no matter where I am in the world or what headspace I’m in, I know that I can commit to SOTO. The on-demand library has become a lifeline - 5 minute arms in between zoom meetings, many Triple A classes on hotel room floors, and sculpt classes shared with friends on vacation.

I was excited to try SOTO - not only because I'd always been impressed by the level of energy Hilary brings to anything she does - but because I love an efficient, effective workout that I can do anywhere. Since we started dating we’ve struggled to find a workout that we like to do together. SOTO snuck up on me.

I’ve known and loved Hilary for 10yrs, so when my dear friend of a decade reached out to tell me about her fitness startup, I signed up to support. Ingrained in my triathlon and marathon training in 2021, I didn’t commit to making SOTO a regular part of my fitness routine. I‘d throw on a SOTO class a couple times a month if I was traveling and/or short on time to get in a workout with the added bonus of feeling like I was hanging out with Hil… but my time was largely spent on morning runs, rides and/or swims down on the Jersey Shore.

ENTER RETURN TO OFFICE. Late nights. Early mornings. BYE to hour long training workouts down the shore…and HELLO to SOTO.

Now short on time, but really needing to exert my body before the workday begins, I roll out of bed, throw on a 20-30min SOTO, then get ready and go to work. It became my new weekday routine out of necessity, but after a month of doing this, I was stunned to see the results. For starters - a body weight, shape and definition that I last saw when I was training multiple hours a day for a boxing fight several years ago. A feeling of stability and strength that I have never felt before - as I have never taken consistent time to focus on the smaller and stabilizing muscles - which I now believe are SO important as they are the conductors of power for the larger muscle groups that I have been developing/training so hard for most of my life. SOTO is “on brand” for me and how I try to live in multiple areas of my life: work smarter (not just harder), be results oriented, focus on the little things because the little things are the big things…

MOLLY FOX AND TUCKER JOHNSON

We moved to LA following a long road trip. After 6 months cramped up in the car, we needed 2 things: More time together, and a good full body work out.

We didn’t normally workout together before SOTO. Molly is all business: Tell me what to do and make it sweaty, otherwise what are we doing here? Tucker prefers more intuitive movement and a focus on the mind / body connection. It’s remarkable how SOTO accomplishes both. We love it! Molly can now hold a plank for 3 minutes straight, and Tucker has regained strength and stability after a skiing knee injury.

SOTO is a great new aspect of our California lifestyle. Hilary has even bartered her delicious avocados for some of our fresh Valencia oranges. What more could you want?

SERRENA IYER

SOTO has not only been the perfect workout but has also fundamentally changed how I view and understand fitness. As I’ve been going through a long, multi-year recovery, I didn’t think any workout class outside of physical therapy was an option. But SOTO was unique in that there is room for everyone, because it isolates specific muscle groups. Even while I cannot use my legs normally, I can give my arms and abs an incredible workout. It’s easy to give up or feel lost when you’re grappling with unexpected changes to your life, much less your own body, but SOTO has been inspiring and made me realize that there is always a way forward and there is always time to get stronger.

SOTO entered my life at the perfect time (shout out to @hkadesch for the intro). I had just gotten married and was leaving my home in Jackson Hole to move to Laramie, WY to pursue my graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling. I had a wonderful workout community in Jackson, both in the mountains and at a studio, where I took and taught Megaformer as well as conditioning, yoga, sculpt, and more. With the loss of my exercise community and the new busy schedule as a student, SOTO was key to providing me with time-efficient, impactful, and FUN exercises. Though the SOTO community for me is found online, Hilary has welcomed me with open arms and has made me feel strong, beautiful, and special. As a fellow instructor, Hilary’s attention to detail and motivation is unmatched. As a therapist-in-training, I’m grateful that SOTO provides me the self-care that is necessary in an emotionally-draining career. Focus has never been a personal strength. I’m easily excitable, and impulsively passionate, which doesn’t always translate into success. Finding something - anything - and holding on to or harnessing some kind of attachment, commitment, has never been easy. And while little has been easy in the pandemic, it has presented a unique opportunity for me to recalibrate and relearn how to focus. I’ve made strides and there are certainly a handful of influential factors, but SOTO is the stand out for what's made me a better and happier human.

When I took my first SOTO class, it was almost euphoric. I immediately felt a sense of center, and that I was finally experiencing everything I’d been wanting and waiting for.

The physical impact of SOTO is undeniable: if you take these classes, your body will change. The mental side is something Hilary has tapped into unlike any other instructor or coach I’ve ever had: she delivers a physical mental digestibility as standard, and it’s a gift I never knew I needed. I value that deeply. As far as the emotional side, which is very real, well, that’s why we can’t stop taking or talking about SOTO. Whether I’m taking the class at home or in person, Hilary is breathing, laughing, groaning, and holding on with me for 4 minutes and 20 seconds.

SOTO has enabled me to feel more connected to myself, and more capable - mentally, physically, emotionally, than I ever have. If I’m distracted or don’t know how to start a project at work, I’ll power through express arms. If I don’t think I have the time or energy for that, I’ll plank for 60 seconds and I’m ready to go. To SOTO, thank you for that.

DIANA ZHOU

Two years ago, I gave birth to a baby boy. But, I had an emergency c-section and the recovery was slow and hard. I thought I would never be able to get my pre-pregnancy body back. In came SOTO; not only was I able to physically feel better and more in shape, SOTO is the only class that gives me an incredible ab workout and allows me to finally focus on the areas that I wanted. And while I can only dream of getting Hilary's 6-pack, I am definitely starting to feel more definition in my mid-section again.

Going to the in-person SOTO classes and seeing Hilary is the highlight of my week. Hilary is one of the most motivating and positive people I know, and she makes me feel like every class is an incredible accomplishment. I could be having a terrible day, but the moment I step into her class, I instantly feel the outside world slip away and I know she is there to support me and help me achieve my fitness goals. While regular 45-min. group fitness classes seem to drag on forever, the hour-long SOTO class is over before I know it. I recently moved to NYC, and I can't wait for SOTO to come to the East Coast!

AMARA WILSON

I started taking virtual classes in 2017 when I was living in Morocco. Since then, I’ve tried them all, and when I say all, I mean everything shy of my mother’s Jane Fonda videos. When SOTO was released, I was quick to try it out. Now, half a year later, I can truly say that I am completely hooked. As someone who has had their fair share of ups and downs with their fitness journey, I’ve recently latched onto the mantra, “only move when it feels good, and when it doesn’t feel good, switch up how you’re moving.”

For me, that switch-up has become a pretty consistent rotation of HIIT, pilates, and running. SOTO offers the best of all three. You know that when you show up you’re going to get a killer workout, that every class will hit just one more muscle you may have forgotten about, and that you’ll leave sweaty and rejuvenated. And as a law student, being able to get all of that in under an hour is an incredible feat. Switching up my movement has led to the results I’ve been seeking for years, and I’m so grateful that I have SOTO there, motivating me to move my body and push myself.

Don’t sleep on SOTO!

ALISON ZIFFREN

I am not someone who prioritizes (or honestly, even looks forward to) working out - in fact, I will put pretty much everything possible in front of it. Work, sleep, eating, drinking, sitting on the couch… anything. I wanted to look and feel better after years of Covid monotony and many days never leaving my apartment, so I committed to SOTO. It changed my mentality first and my body second. I could fit the virtual classes in around my schedule, and not even I could find a reason to get out of it (especially with my favorite Triple A’s!!).

For me, the first week of SOTO was survival mode - I was motivated but took breaks and just focused on making it through, the second and third weeks were mentally and physically tougher, and by the fourth week I felt stronger and more confident. I could not believe that I was seeing and feeling results so quickly, and from there I was hooked.

Hilary radiates positivity, joy, acceptance, strength, humor, and being tuned into your personal journey above all else. Whether it’s her huge smile, inspirational words, or full 6-pack (#goals), somehow I have found myself planning my days around SOTO and I am forever grateful.

Last November I ran the NYC Marathon ! In signing up, I realized the long miles ahead would be an immense commitment, however, I did not realize all the time needed for recovery and strength training. While putting the miles in, working long days, and trying to maintain a social life, my lack of strength training caused some muscle imbalances. When the marathon was over, I knew I had to get to work to rebuild, but I didn’t have a plan. That’s where SOTO came in!

I spoke to Hilary and realized with SOTO I could isolate and focus on those weak imbalances, and slowly build my strength back. The program is so efficient that I was able to seamlessly add it to my busy lifestyle. Even easier, SOTO Express series are perfect - I can dedicate 4min and 20 seconds strengthening exactly the muscle group I want - glutes, abs, arms etc. I have even taken virtual classes while on vacation, when I want a quick toning/pick me up given the lack of equipment needed.

Hilary’s energy is contagious, and she makes sure every second counts! SOTO is reliable, efficient, the classes go by quickly and are also fun! SOTO was exactly what I needed post marathon, I feel stronger already. While I am the ultimate “yes” woman when it comes to trying new workouts … SOTO is here to stay!

"Coming out of the pandemic, and settling into our routines again we wanted to dip our feet back into fitness. Historically Kenny and I exercised separately but SOTO allowed for us to start or finish our days together with a fun and challenging workout. "I've always had a hard time staying consistent with any workout routine. “I love a good theme party, especially when it involves designing my own costume. So when my friend Dylan invited me to a “Sexy Signs of the Zodiac” Halloween party, my mind started running wild with visions of a scantily-clad Pisces. After extensive brainstorming and a few sketches, I landed on an understated and tasteful design. We scrapped that. The end result was a nude illusion look in which I would be wearing two strategically placed golden fish and little else. Needless to say, I wanted to be looking and feeling my best, so I turned to Hilary and the SOTO Method to get my body right and tight for the occasion.

In the two weeks leading up to the party, I did a daily plank express series to better define my abs and strengthen my core. What I didn’t realize was that SOTO would also help improve my mental state and give me an energy boost throughout my day. Those two short weeks were enough for me to get hooked. “Living in NYC, we get spoiled with the variety of workout classes and gyms. I think I’ve tried them ALL! So I can confidently say that the SOTO Method has been a godsend for my workout regime. I find her workouts EFFICIENT because for 35-40 mins, every move is INTENTIONAL. "What excites me most about Soto is I have finally found a forever work out."

Daily movement has meant different things to me in the last 2+ years. Everyone experienced change since 2020, and for me, my mix was moving multiple times, changing jobs, the work-from-home then return-to-office dance, return to business travel, return to wedding season... and, finally, a 1+ year recovery journey from a ski accident. I went from 5:30am gym workouts, to working out at home, to flat out no work outs, to starting over and building back.

Soto is my forever work out because it is safe, efficient, and accessible, and I know it can fit into my life in so many ways. I valued Soto when I was getting back into exercise and starting from 0, I valued Soto when I returned to the office (often with only have 30 min at 6am to move my body), and I value Soto today when I need a boost or foundation -- at the tip of my fingertips -- to my other workouts. I love that Soto delivers a predictable full body work out by fatiguing each muscle group, with no minute left without purpose, and with multiple ways to flex up or down in difficulty.

With so many fitness options out there, personally knowing Hilary is also candidly a huge reason as to why I was such an early believer in Soto. Hilary and I met 10+ years ago and I can confidently say that there are few (potentially actually 0 people) who out-energize her, and few who overflow with as much passion for life as her.
